Kaiser Permanente Ontario Vineyard Medical Center – Ontario, California

In August 2007, HTS was asked to assist Kaiser Permanente in developing commissioning specifications for the new Vineyard Medical Center in Ontario, California. HTS was also engaged to provide its FreightTrain™ project management software and, following a competitive bid process in January 2008, was awarded a contract to provide commissioning services for the Medical Center.

The Kaiser Ontario Vineyard Medical Center project consists of construction of a 385,087 Sq. Ft., 270 bed Medical Center; a 153,404 Sq. Ft. Hospital Support Building; and major additions to the existing Central Utility Plant. Construction of the Medical Center began in January 2008 followed by construction of the Hospital Support Building in March 2008.

HTS conducted an extensive design review of the project and has been coordinating findings and observations from that review with the project team. This effort has minimized construction impacts and changes during construction. Current work involves development of the project commissioning plan, conduct of commissioning meetings with the project team and regular field observations of the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. HTS will create the pre-functional test checklists for GC and sub-contractor use and will develop and conduct functional performance tests. All work is being managed and tracked with HTS' FreightTrain™ data base tools.
