UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center – Los Angeles, CA

UCLA's Ronald Reagan Medical Center is a $700 million, 1.2 million square foot, state-of-the-art university medical center. HTS is providing transition planning services, commissioning services and project-specific FreightTrain™ software for this project. HTS has developed and monitored Critical Path Schedules for many of the Transition Planning Committees at UCLA, including: Patient Care Services, Environmental Care Services, Receiving, Equipment Planning, Facilities, Safety, Furniture, IT/Telecommunications, Clinical Labs, Clinical Engineering and New Hospital Operations.

Using our FreightTrain® database software, HTS developed a Room Completion Database (RCD) to support the scheduling functions for over 60 thousand pieces of medical equipment, furniture and IT devices. The RCD is a web-based tool used by the Transition Planning Team to manage room and equipment status, develop reports and metrics, and provide colorized floor plans depicting room completion status. This database application includes a scheduling feature to assist in tracking various stages of equipment status, such as: staged, delivered, received, installed, clinical engineering tested, inspected and completed.

In addition, HTS has provided Interim Transition Planning oversight, with staff serving as the Director of Transition Planning. Responsibilities included complete management and oversight of the Transition Planning Team, interface with Capital Programs (internal construction management), ongoing meeting support and implementation of Transition Plans with the Medical Center staff and physicians.
